I wonder whereto even begin? There were so many ups and downs, it was a very educational experience.

After not much thinking at all what I will do then is just go through the performance and give commentary on various aspects. Will need to also go over some elements of the performance that did not make the final cut, which was unfortunate but we all knew it had to be done. I want to talk about those aspects because it was important in the development of this project.


Just want to say that I feel like many changes would be made if I were to come across an oppurtunity like this again. 



The audience enters / Animated sequence 




For the people in the single digit range that happens to be reading this and also not have not experienced this performance, there is an almost 30 minute sequence by the dancers even before the audience enters the actual theatre space. Quite harrowing performance by our dancers and officers, as they intermingle with the audience in the waiting area. 







The first thing I want to talk about is Livelink. How much difficulty did venture bring? What a frustrating experience with glimmers of amazing potential. What you need to get livelink working

We got to the point of being able to dress different costumes for virtual dancer counterparts and record body movements. It was so close to working but it had key limitations. I say this but I also acknowledge that I may not have been aware of easier ways of producing the required content for the performance. 






National health dance (SPIES ARE CAPTURED)


The captured spies are processed as the pictures were taken just earlier. As the rest of the audience is instructed dance the national health dance, the results of the game previously played is projected in full view. through isadora 3 the images are superimposed on ‘newspapers’ with provocative headlines accusing the captured “spies” of treacherous acts. Eyes are covered to allow some level of anonymity






DREAM SCENE



after the spies are found and eliminated, the audience is instructed to sit and immerese in the dream scene. a scene flows through a collage of fragmented memories, puppets guide you deeper into their world. the scene is created using real memories, then rearranged into a real but fictional world in unreal engine






LINE DANCE

in the last SECTIONs, an image created during an earlier part of the performance is projected onto the dancer. This image is now controlled via the AKAI LPD8 midi controller. This was used to manually manipulate the image in real time, reacting to the dancers movements. This created a haunting effect, the dancer enveloping and breaking as the dancer navigated through the music and image
