A continutation of “VirtuaScape”, my master’s Thesis project explores a new form of hybrid architecture by merging our physical and digital realities. Through the installation users can engage with a new type of architectural space, where the tactility of physical architecture is merged with the dynamic potential of digital spatial manipulation.
My main role was the creation of the digital architecture and exploring methods of ‘expanding’ the physical playspace through digital locomotion. I was also heavily involved in the construction of the installation and set up.
Construction and components
Physical comoponents and movement is tracked using vive trackers and leapmotion hardware. Tracked information is then processed with Unity and c# for digital interactivity. Physical locomotion and the digital environment is exploited to create Seamless digital ‘configurations’ of the physical installation
